Globos de Oro 2018: más dominio femenino en la industria del entretenimiento

La edición número 75 de los Globos de Oro 2018 no sólo fue una noche en donde hubo sorpresas en la entrega de los premios, sino que marcó un momento histórico importante para el gremio artístico femenino de la industria del entretenimiento. La clase artística femenina decidió ir vestida de negro en protesta al acoso sexual y laboral en Hollywood; bien marcado el pasado año con acusaciones hacia el productor de cine estadounidense Harvey Weinstein, el actor Kevin Spacey, el director James Toback, el productor Brett Ratner, el director franco-polaco Roman Polanski, el comediante Bill Cosby, entre otros que siguen siendo acusados y que niegan dichas acusaciones.

Los Globo tienen la reputación de ser una gala relajada e impredecible, pero los ganadores y los discursos encajaron tan bien con el tema no oficial de la velada que se sintió que había un guión. Oprah Winfrey, la primera mujer negra en recibir el Premio Cecil B. DeMille, cristalizó y articuló un hilo sobre el empoderamiento femenino que se extendió durante toda la noche.

“What I know for sure is that speaking your truth is the most powerful tool we all have, and I’m especially proud and inspired by all the women who have felt strong enough and empowered enough to speak up and share their personal stories. Each of us in this room are celebrated because of the stories that we tell, and this year we became the story. But it’s not just a story affecting the entertainment industry. It’s one that transcends any culture, geography, race, religion, politics or workplace, “ enfatizó Winfrey. “So I want tonight to express gratitude to all the women who have endured years of abuse and assault because they, like my mother, had children to feed and bills to pay and dreams to pursue. They’re the women whose names we’ll never know. So I want all the girls watching here and now to know that a new day is on the horizon! And when that new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight, and some pretty phenomenal men, are fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders who take us to the time when nobody ever has to say “me too” again. Thank you.” – concluyó Winfrey.

Los discursos de las mujeres fueron las estrellas del espectáculo, definidas por su claridad al presionar por un cambio tangible, no solo en Hollywood, sino en toda la sociedad. Otra actriz que se dejó sentir y que fue avalada por todos en la ceremonia lo fue Laura Dern, ganadora del premio a la mejor actriz secundaria en serie limitada o película para la TV “Big Little Lies”: “Many of us were taught not to tattle. It was a culture of silencing and that was normalized. I urge all of us to not only support survivors and bystanders who are brave enough to tell their truth, but to promote restorative justice. May we also please protect and employ them. May we teach our children that speaking out without the fear of retribution is our culture’s new north star.”

• Mejor serie para TV: “The Handmaid’s Tale”

• Mejor actriz de reparto para cine: Allison Janney, “I, Tonya”

• Mejor actriz para cine (Comedia o Musical): Saoirse Ronan, “Lady Bird”

• Mejor actriz para cine (Drama): Frances McDormand, “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”
